So a few weeks ago our Stake had a Women's Conference. Our Stake R.S. President shared something that I absolutely LOVE!
Now, I don't own a GPS but I just went to D.C. and NYC with Zach and we used it there!
When we turned on the GPS, the Lady in the Box would say, "Enter Destination" and as we drove and would inevitably miss our exit, she would say, "recalculate route".
Why can't we be like the Lady in the Box with ourselves and others?! She doesn't yell, she doesn't flip out and call you names and she doesn't remind you of how you missed that exit or even keep track of how many times you've had to recalculate your route!
Seriously, one thing that I LOVE about this analogy is that you have to turn around sometimes and recalculate your route if you have put in a destination. Yeah, it stinks to turn around. But pat yourself on the back for goodness sake! You've got a destination! All is not lost! Keep focussed on your goal and you'll get there!
Besides, isn't one of the secrets to a happy life to enjoy the journey?! So chill out, laugh, take treats and make sure you are nice to the other person in the car! :)...or subway train!
